 Developing the Application

This application has been developed using the .NET Framework 1.1 as development platform and C# as programming language. InnoSetup installer was used to create the installation package and Pocket Screen Capture 1.0 to capture the screen shots.

No Smartphone Support
Windows Mobile comes in two basic versions from Microsoft. Windows Mobile for PPC and Windows Mobile for Smartphone. Hellenic Calendar does not work on Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition. This is due to special care that was required in order to be compatible (especially in installation process). It seems that mobile development is in it's priliminary stages. So, I decided to wait for these incompatibility issues to be solved by Microsoft, instead of spending more time to override them myself.

No Today Screen Plug-In
The same goes for the Today Screen feature. This would be a very cool add-on for this application. Unfortunately building a Today Screen plug-in requires some C++ code and not only C#, which was used to build this application. Microsoft published some samples to cover this void but none of them seems to work for me! I consider myself experienced enough to be able to follow written development instructions. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to make it work. After posting several questions on Microsoft Techninal Forums I found other developers are having the same problem. So once more, Microsoft guys... Today Screen plug-ins should be made simpler to implement!!!
